Pricing questions
Do I need a paid plan to use Aspen?
No. Aspen is free and complete on your own Mac or Linux computer. If you already pay for ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok, sign in with that and Aspen uses it.
What does Aspen Link add?
The connection: your phone and other computers reach your computer from anywhere, with no network setup. Plus the extras, like web search that works with any model, and Labs.
What happens if I reach the weekly search limit?
Nothing breaks and you are never billed extra. Search keeps working with your own Exa or Brave key, or you can wait for the Monday reset.
Do you charge extra for the AI I bring?
No. When you use your own plan or keys, you pay that provider directly and we add nothing on top.
What leaves my computer?
Your files, logins, and history stay on your computer. Aspen Link traffic is encrypted end to end. When you use web search through Aspen Link, that request goes through our service to be answered. We keep usage counts to run the limits, not an archive of what you said.
What do I run it on?
A computer you own: a Mac, or a Linux box. A Mac mini or a small mini PC left on at home is ideal, but any Mac or Linux machine works. We don't rent you one. Your agent lives on your hardware, and every plan works the same on either.
Can I cancel?
Anytime, from the billing page. Aspen keeps working free on your computer after that, with the AI plan or keys you connect.
