What can Aspen help with?
Most things you'd ask a capable assistant. It can think things through with you, like planning a new business or understanding a contract. It can do the work: sorting email and drafting replies, finding times that work, filling out forms, researching and comparing options, pulling numbers into a spreadsheet. And it can keep you on track, with a morning check-in on a goal or a Monday summary of what's due.
Do I need to be technical to use it?
No. Aspen is a normal desktop and phone app: one download, and you talk to it in plain language. Sign in with the AI subscription you already have.
Why does it run on my own computer?
Because that is where your work already lives. Aspen uses the files and accounts you already have and browses in real Chrome on that computer, so there is nothing to upload and nothing to reconnect. It also means your mail and documents stay with you instead of on someone else's servers.
Which browser does it use?
Google Chrome or Helium on the computer Aspen runs on, in a profile of its own. Sign in to your sites once and add the extensions you like, such as your password manager or an ad blocker. You can watch it work and take over from your desk or your phone.
What computer do I need?
A Mac or a Linux computer you own. The Mac you already have works, and a Mac mini or a small mini PC left on at home makes a great dedicated computer for Aspen. We don't rent you one: your assistant lives on your hardware.
Can I use it from my phone?
Yes. Message Aspen from your phone and it does the work on your computer at home or the office. You get a note when it's finished, or a question if it needs a decision from you.
How private is it, really?
Aspen runs on your own computer, so your files, logins, and chat history live there, not on our servers. When you use something we host, like web search, that request passes through our service to be answered; we keep usage counts, not an archive of what you said. And you can watch what Aspen is doing and stop it at any time.
Which AI does it use?
Your choice. Aspen works with your ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok subscriptions. Prefer API keys or local models? Connect OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Ollama, and more. You're never locked into a single provider.
Is there a free way to get started?
Yes. Aspen is free on your own computer with the AI subscription or keys you already have. No credit card and no account needed. Paid plans are optional: Aspen Link ($10 a month) lets your phone and other computers reach your computer from anywhere with no network setup, and adds web search that works with any AI and Labs.
Can I take my work with me?
Always. Anything Aspen helps you create is an ordinary file on your computer, yours to edit, share, and keep. There's no lock-in.
